One goes down and creates a nice rolled edge for the seal to slip over , the common style has one rolled edge that goes up . The common one can be placed a bit farther down a shaft and is more versatile . The dual rolled edge one was also known as a wear sleeve . the edge that is rolled down prevents the sleeve from going too far down a shaft . Most are made for specific applications - end of the crank . i am looking for a source for generic ones that have no specific application but do have dimensions .
