A lot depends on the temps. When it goes sub zero, my Ram Block heater is always plugged in. When I go to start it, the grid heaters come on. The grid heater sensor is on the intake air temp, not block temp. I dont think my B5.9 or B3.9's would start very well at 25 below without heat.
