I think that is why most go to a hanging pedal set-up to avoid that situstion.When I did my v-8 conversion I used hanging pedals so I didn't encounter that problem I did have interferance with the starter solenoid and the power steering gear housing. To solve it I had to move the starter solenoid back on the starter to make clearance. The other way I could have used and older style starter that uses a remote solenoid, but it was a different ring gear count so I deceided not to go that route, I didn't want to take everything apart to change the ring gear. Moving the solenoid back on the starter worked fine for me.Just had to make a custom extended actuator rod.
