318 starter and brake pedal interference

Today I ran into my first snag with the 318 conversion. The original brake pedal arm bangs squarely into the starter solenoid. Even if the solenoid was moved, the arm would skim against the side of the starter. Will the Nippon-Denso mini starter help with this situation? The factory starter uses three bolts to mount, one on the top and two at the bottom.
