it is called a converter, the warm engine water flows thru a jacket and warms the liquid propane so that it can vaporize fast enough to fuel the engine. small engines dont usually need one, but when you get to 4 or more cylinders you need some help getting the propane to vaporize fast enough to fuel the engine without freezeup.
