Yes, the taper is right for Jorno, but the actual diameters are midway between #6 and #7 Jorno although the length is right for #6. If I somehow found a #6 Jorno tapered something-or-other the fat end would go way down inside the spindle. Also, I'm not clear on whether a Jorno shank has a 1/2-20 threaded hole in it. If I had a way to turn a true taper, making one would be trivial. These look homemade, so I assume the junk man got a taper jig along with the lathe. I wish Jack had put an R8 spindle on his little mill, but it's till amazing that he built the whole thing from scratch by hand. From the tooling, it looks like his main purpose was for cutting gears.
