does the late model lower water pump bolt up where the higher older model bolts up

just curious as my rad. is now 3 plus in. from the fan and if the late model is lower maybe it will clear my filler spout and would be closer to the radiator

anyone have a part no. for the late pump and can you get one at a auto parts house
