I do not have any parts books for the military trucks, but the Civilian Power-Wagon books show riveted shoes up through October 1949.

The part number for the assembled shoe was 1063 645. The lining itself was 1191 337 and the rivets were 923 969. In 1949, Parts List Supplement D-13156 was issued and it showed a lining set that consisted of 4 linings and 40 rivets and that was number 1243 641. A shoe without the lining was shown as number 303 612.

Also in the October 1949 supplement were a couple of new numbers that were indicated as having never been used before. These were 1316 149 for brake show lining package that consisted of four linings for bonding. Also listed was 1316 150 which was a lining package for four linings at .030 oversize for bonding. This is the first parts list for the Power-Wagon where bonded brake shoe linings were listed.

In the next parts list D-13864 (that superseded the 1949 supplement list) , dated July 1951, more new number appear with indications that they had not been used previously:

1321 191 - Facing Package for after serial number 83920354 (for bonding)
1321 192 - .030 oversize Facing Package for after serial number 83920354 (for bonding)
1270 798 - complete shoe with bonded facing
1266 181 - complete shoe with bonded facing for up to serial number 83920354
1270 799 - complete shoe with bonded facing for after serial number 83920354

I have about 24 old brake shoes here that were taken off of Power-Wagons and nearly all have riveted linings. However, I have owned mostly WDX and B1PW model trucks.

Thanks for suggesting I check the parts books. I learned something new again.

Also, I forgot to mention that S&S was established in 1954, so they have been making truck parts right here in the U.S. for a long time.
