I know this is an "old wives tale", type solution, but vapor lock can be fixed by hanging a wooden clothespin on the metal fuel line right before the carb. Ok, it sounds dumb, but I have seen it work, and many " oldtimers" swear by it.
I had an M37 and the previous owner hung 2 clothespins on the fuel line to prevent vaporlock. I thought it was dumb, and took it off. Truck had vaporlock problems almost immediately. I put it back on, and the truck would run fine. So, who's to say???
