VF refers to '39 and '40 1-1/2 tons, quite a few of the 2 wheel drive variety were built. if you are refering to the military 4x4 version, i believe only about 5000 were built, in '40 only.

if you are talking about the military 4x4 truck: cargo body same as the chevy 1-1/2 ton 4x4. cab, hood, grille doors essentially same as civi truck. fenders similar to "cut out " civi fenders. engine is a 244 ci version of the "251 block" . if not interested in drivers side PTO, civi tranny will interchange. do not know of sources for or interchange for the spicer xfer case and split axles. wheels are narrow 20 inch split ring with a 5 bolt on 8 inch lug pattern, same as many '30s dodge and ford trucks. rated load capacity 3000 lb. recommended top speed (if i remember)39mph.

parts are more or less a find it where you can situation,, no "sources " as such..portrayal press does have maint and parts manual for the VF series 4x4s..
