thanks for all the replies, guys. like i said it's still just a dream right now, but i am in the fact finding mode. i did come by a website for a magazine/club i am going to join/subscribe. is there a club in the area of san francisco? i am a member of the turbo diesel register (dodge cummins club --- can you start to see a common thread here?) and they have a bunch of active members in the area. is there an active power wagon group out here?
what i envision for my project --- ultimately a daily driver and a weekend work truck. i love the cummins, and am familiar with them, but i would also like the safety of modern brakes and suspension....and that cummins torque and reliablity. no, i don't work for cummins, just a fan of the engine and a BIG fan of the looks of the mighty power wagon, but alas....the time of 4 cars/trucks and 6 motorcycles are waning (too much time wrenching not enough driving/riding) so i am going to try (and have) and narrow the fleet to a pick up, fast car and two motorcycles. if my dream came true with the pw project it would fulfill the cool and useful factor with a limited fleet.
i'll try and keep you all updated.
