Transfer case mounts

During my last cattle hauling adventure
I rolled under my truck to rephase the U-joints.My buddy stood on the brake and shifted the transmission and transfer case in and out of gear.Well,I noticed big movement in the transfer case,like 1-1/2"
up and down the front drive shaft.Is this normal and if it isn't whats the solution?
