As strong as chity?? Who gave you an idea that chity's are strong?? = ) For Starters f*erd & chity also run NP transfers, which are made by Chrysler. The DANA axles are equal in all applications, with the exception of the f*rd IFS. The 8 lug DANA44 is one way to go but you'll have to, or at least should, change the rear at the same time so that you don't have to carry two spares. For the tires that you are running, and plan to run in the future, you are way under axled. You should seriously consider DANA 60's front and rear, OR stick with 33" tires. The Dodge years that you mention will work. The chity running gear is NO advantage over the Dodge, it is a step backwards, plus the splines are not the same. gm doesn't make anything seriously tough enough to consider until you get to the 14 bolt, the cost of which is rediculous. You're better off with a DANA 70 at that point. Keep it Dodge, it will be much easier to get parts at one stop and it is all basically bolt-up. Some changes to the steering geometry, but it is workable.
