John,
Production of the 1959 W300 was 98 (or 99) V8's (That would be the 318) and 86 6cyls.
So that would make this a fairly rare truck.
But, rarity does not always equate to expensive.
I have heard of a few for sale, a real nice 6cyl tow truck for $3,000, a real clean factory stake bed for $1,000, a light roll over that was cut up (price unknown).
I don't know of any current pricing of trucks on the open market, you never see one of these things at a Barret Jackson(sp?) Auction. :-)
If the truck is really clean, original, runs and drives, and is only missing the bed (Does it have a winch? Does it have 19'5s? Has the frame been cut?) I would say that it is worth $200 if I'm going to buy it. :-) :-)
On the open market my guess of an avaerage price for a good running and driving (Needs no major mechanical work and can be used as is) '59 W300 at between $2,000 and $6,000.
This is my best guess and not based on any real information, just observation of the general truck market.
Des any else have any other openions as I am whistling in th dark here.
But if you are desperate my $200 offer still stands. :-) :-) :-)
Send me an e-mail, I just bought a '59 W300 myself and would love to talk to you.
Eric
