For the last 10 years I have been passing a old military truck but have know idea as to what make it is. The old girl is of
World War 2 vintage with dual rear wheels and 4 wheel drive, I think she is 1 1/2 ton, but not sure. The body looks similar to the half ton series trucks and command car With a barrel radiator grill. Has a large 6 cylindar enginge with a butterfly hood. Large flat radiator typical of all of our trucks, but the filler neck is off set to right side of truck. The truck has a front mounted winch ( I think of the Braden Manufacter). Front axle has leather cover which cover the u-joints to hub instead of the large ball knukle on the front hubs. Large open Sheet metal fenders which headlights, blackout lights are monted on top of head lamps. The louvers in the hood are longer than what is on the 1/2 ton series. Also the hood is longer. She has saddle tanks on both sides which look origional. Has four speed transmission and I think a two speed transfer case.body is a closed cab body Front window does not open, no cowl vent. She had either bucket seats or a large bench seat. Wiper motors are American Bosch motors.Large two pane wind sheild with one peice side windows, rear window has a regulator and rolls down behind seats. She has no bed, so I have no clueas to what her purpose was during the war. I Going to take some pictures of it this week soon and will see if I can post them on photopoint.com so you guys can see them. Where would I look for id #'s on the truck and frame. Thanks for your help.
