One of the drawbacks of running a free site is that if the site gets real popular the bandwidth charges will get you. And for some reason the in past three months, the Power Wagon Page has been a popular place to visit. In February we had 60,661 page views with an estimated 80,000 page views for March if this month's trend continues.
I know I'm on the forum a lot, but never expected that many visits. Anyway to help pay for the overage charges, I'm trying to offer what I think are reasonable rates for some services. Thats why I asked for a five dollar donation if you sell something on the e-classifieds. I didn't think that was excessive, and it is honor system, I don't keep track of what sells.
The banner ads are available too. The going rate is $10 per quarter.
Please understand that I enjoy this site as much as anyone else, and will continue to try to keep this website from turning into a gravesite. I'm not going broke, so no sympathy please, just trying to stay afloat.
I get a daily newsletter from a guy in Iowa named Chris Pirillo. Yet another Iowan that I have deep respect for. He recently composed the Libera Manifesto, a tribute to those people like you, who support sites such as this. Its a good read, you may agree with some things and disagree with other points, but it does make you realize there actually is a person on the other side of the computer screen, and some of the thoughts that cross our minds.
