I've been offered (or have considered) a half dozen W300 trucks during the past couple months - from that beautiful ex firetruck and a $10,000- rebuilt from Arizona to a couple rougher trucks too far away from home here in Maine. I've been looking for a '61-67 W300, single rear wheel, prefer 900X16 but 8-19.5 okay,4.88 gears, 318 poly, hopefully with a PTO Braden up front and either Fisher or Western plow. I'm not trying to hoard but I already have 3 W300s - a '61 (torn down, tin gone), a '63 - together & runs but nowhere near roadworthy,
and my '65 ex Coast Guard (torn down, tin gone - many parts in the '63). Help me! Just been offered a '57 W300 (not a flatfender), nowhere near roadworthy but sounds like great parts truck. Before I take a day off from work and drive for 6-8 hrs., I have manuals and partsbooks '61 + up, but nothing earlier, how much interchanges? Is there a late 50's W300 guru out there? I'm guessing it has Dana 70's and a 901 tranfer, NP 420 and 251 flathead - frame?, springs?, etc. Thanks in advance - HELP!!!!!
