Two trucks: 1941 WC (being sold) and a 1952 FFPW. The fuel tank from the '52 was not original; it might have come off a mid-1970's small car. The '42 had an original fuel tank, albeit not that nice of condition. Because I am selling the '42, I mistakenly decided that the '42 fuel tank would replace the incorrect fuel tank that was on the '52, so I swapped them.

Well, not all the way. I removed the tank off the '42, set it on my wife's laundry out of my way, and then installed the 1970's incorrect fuel tank on the '42 so I could drive the truck around to sell it. The FFPW remained parked during this transaction, but today I decided to install the '42 tank on the '52. It's nice that neither truck has a bed.

Now, I realize in my glorious idiocy, that the '42 fuel tank does not like trying to fit where I want it to go on the FFPW. The dimensions of the tank allow it to fit between the frame rails, but holes, bracketing and crossmember don't match up at all.

How screwed am I? I know I can MAKE the tank fit in there, but I'm trying to keep the truck as unmolested as possible. Suggestions (even the sarcastic ones) would be appreciated at this point.
