Many years ago I rebuilt the door lock and link on my WW2 Dodge. The latch that holds the door closed had worn down to the point that it didn't stay closed. And, the tabs that hold the spring in place also broke off. I can't remember where I found the spring, it could have been at the Aberdeen spring rally or another similar flea market. I did drill out the rivets on the assembly, brazed new tabs for the spring, welded up the lost metal on the latch, ground it to size, and put everything back together. I have also swapped the passenger's door latch piecefor the driver's side by driving out the piece the spring presses on.
