Rotaries are prety good. But not cheap.

Modern vehicles us submerged rotary pumps. The last about 100,000 miles. Then you have to drop the tank to change it.

The good aftermarket rotaries have the gas flowing throughout the pump for lubing and cooling. They last good too, but are expensive, and only worth while for race applications. Cost and very high flow knock them out of our of our range. That said, if you were to hook up a relief valve and return line to control the flow to the carbs, they might be worth while. $$$, including adding a return port to the tank.
