Two professional truck drivers I knew (one of them was my father) always told me that the load should be distributed about equally across the trailer with about 20% of the load on the tongue. If you have trailer axles behind the center of the trailer deck, you might want to put the weasel over the axles, and the pop-up trailer in front. If you have a mid-deck set of axles, like typical tandem car trailer, it might be the weasel in front with the trailer in the rear. Basically, too heavy in front, and you lose steerage. Too heavy in the rear, you lose traction and it tends to push you around.

You can do moment calculations but the easiest way to check is to load, then jump on the front and rear of the trailer when it is hooked up. If it moves up and down about even when you are jumping on it, you are loaded right. If the front or rear bounces more than the other end, you are not loaded right.
