Shifting into and out of gear isn't a sure fire way to know if the clutch is stuck. If you have a helper handy have them hold the clutch in while you go under the truck and see if you can wiggle the friction disc a little front to back with a screw driver. If it doesn't wiggle have the helper engage and release the clutch a few times while you watch the pressure plate for proper operation. If the pressure place works fine, have the helper hold the clutch in and pry the friction disc away from the flywheel and then away from the pressure plate and it should be free now.
