- If you're not getting any engine response when attempting to adjust the air screw, then the idle circuit is plugged. Take the air cleaner off and with the engine running, spray carb cleaner down the passage going to the air screw, if no engine response is noted, then it is plugged

- If you're the one where the stud was too long preventing the carb from seating on the manifold, the throttle housing could be warped not allowing it to seat and seal properly

- Spray carb cleaner around the throttle body/manifold gaskets and see if you get an engine response, if it does, then you have a leak and need a new throttle body.

Idling problems are either, plugged idle circuit, vaccum leak, impropper adjustment of air screw/throttle butterfly stop screw, or bad ignition switch.
