I have a pair I just measured....10 1/8". This places the hand-holes close the the edge of the rim. These are 6.5 x 16" wheels for use with 9.00-16 tires. When used in conjunction with a conventional wheel and 9.00-16 tires there is still not enough tire to tire clearance. With 7.50-16's I assume there would be. I had to make 5/8" spacers and use longer inner 'Budd' nuts'. I believe they were 2 3/4" or 3" long and were designated for use with trucks using cast aluminum wheels, which have thicker webs.

The only thing I that concerns me on my installation is that the outer wheel is riding mostly on the part of the inner 'Budd' nut that does not have the additional support of the wheel stud...So far, no problem.

In the past 'Clueless', myself, and others have discussed this topic in depth, and as mentioned, there is more than one way to attack the situation.
