For me, Tim explained it very well below.
I saw the shoe one time. That was enough. Their headquarters is only about 30 miles from me, but I have never been there.
What turned me off was that they went into a guys building and crawled all over everything, all the while feeling the guy up. They would ask if this or that was for sale. If he said, "Yes", they they acted indifferent and moved onto something else. When he said, "That was my father's and probably the ONE think here that I could never part with", they started right in on him. They would not let it go until he was almost in tears and they had him agree to selling for a ridiculously low-ball offer. They they crowed about what they had done and about how much it was really worth and what a bargain they got.
Don't know if it was scripted or not, but it really turned me off.
