Everything from the 1954 241ci to the 1958 315ci in trucks and lots of car engines look exactly like a 1957 Dodge truck 315.
I find as many car motors in trucks as I do truck motors and most of the time I can't tell until I check the number on the block.
If the motor you found is of the small early block poly style the link below will show you where to look for the engine number.
In a 1958 Chrysler I would expect to find one of the larger block motors, 354, 392, etc.
