Well you could use an NP203 like the Ramchargers used in the late 70's. Are you looking to switch to a 4 speed manual?
If you go with the 203 they were full time 4wd so you'd have to put a part time kit in.
I like the 205 It is superior to the chain driven 203.
I've been toying with the idea of a longer front drive shaft with a 205 and an NV4500, you'd need a two piece front drive line with a trunnion bearing to support the mid u-joint but I haven't got all the bracketry figured out yet.
