Wow...I guess being from the North I'm just not used to these conditions but Southern, OR & Northern Cal are like 110 degrees! My white Canadian body doesn't like 110 & my truck doesn't like it either!
I'm towing the big W500 to Napa, Ca & I knew it would be a heavy tow but wow...up over Mt. Ashland in that heat...we almost didn't make it. 1 mile from the top I got a message on my dash that I was overheating & to idle the truck. My Allison was at 240 degrees & the engine needle off the gauge but no steam.
We waited a 1/2hr idling & then limped over the top at 30mph on the shoulder.
We made it but it was very close.
I honestly don't know how peeps handle these temperatures?? I run from the hotel to my truck AC :)
Anyway...heading back North today with my tail between my legs :) Too hot down here for my injured body. You Californians are a tougher lot than me :)
