The best way to find the spot welds or any low spot for that matter is run a grinder over the area while laying it flat. I use an 8" sanding disc on my right angle air sander. By laying it flat on the surface the low spots will show up while the rest of the angle will be shiny. I use a spot weld drill bit after center punching the weld. There are two different types of spot weld drill bits. I use a low speed cordless drill bit to drill the spot weld. The angles should come of fairly easily if you drill out the welds. I've done them from both sides of the box and doing it inside is much better. Have you taken your bed apart to do this? It's way easier having the bedside laying flat for the entire process. I've done several beds now and learned from experience.
