I'll have to use air. When I compress the springs, the valves goes up with them because the missing keeper half has caused the spring cap to tilt and bind on the valve stems.
I have both kinds of spring compressors. I hadn't thought about using the c-clamp style with the head on. May work if the spring compressor is big enough.
Thanks for the idea about soldering a wire to the keepers.
