Tell me about mechanical lift pumps. There's some small contraption on the back of the block that has fuel lines attached to it. Doesn't look like a gas engine fuel pump at all, but I suppose it could be. I like your idea of trying to fire it off on WD40 and see if that gets it going. Will that lift pump ever start to suck, if it's dry, or does it have to be primed somehow? Should I be able to force fuel through it with pressure in the tank, like with a regular fuel pump, or is like like an oil pump with gears in it that blocks the flow unless it's spinning?
