I'm happy to live with all the wild animals. What I'm not happy about, along with a lot of other people in North Idaho, is the government blocking off big chunks of land to keep people from scaring the animals and vice versa. That's the exact opposite of what you're talking about in Alaska. Yeah, people shouldn't leave dog food and garbage out. If the bears don't get into it, the coons will. On the other hand, if a grizzly bear goes 100 miles out of his supposed protected area and kills a farmed elk, is that anybody's fault?

If you tell me people should not attempt to raise livestock in any place that is, was, or could be the habitat of any wild carnivore, then we better just all move off this continent (including the Indians) and make it one big World Park that nobody's allowed to visit. City people don't seem to realize that their cities used to be wilderness too.
