As some of you know my dad is in a nursing home in PA with dementia and other ailments. We've been waiting for a bed to come open up here for the last seven months so we could move him. A bed came open 10 days ago and my son is down there now and will bring dad back tomorrow morning.
My son arranged to ship and bring back a bunch of Dad's stuff, but shipping his elk mount up would have been too expensive. I'm already paying over $1,000 to send things, $6,000 for air fare and $800 to rent an oxygen concentrator for the trip.
I asked the Dodge Boys if they would be interested in hanging the elk and hide in their hunting camp. Bill said yes and this morning Bill drove two hours to meet my son...and in all the heat. I'm really glad that Bill and my son got to meet and that Dad's elk will hang in camp.
My hat is off to Bill and his sons for being an understanding and caring Power Wagon friend. The Power Wagon family builds bonds that go beyond this site and cover thousands of miles. I really appreciate being a part of it.
