Your evidence is neither objective nor empirical.
Get the truck that fits your need. If you're towing around a backhoe, a Toyota is not for you.
If it's the truck that sees its heaviest use going to Costco, you don't need a diesel dually Ford.
The re-sell value on Toyota trucks pretty much speaks for itself.
I've had five of them (plus several cars) and my next truck will be a Toyota too.
