the comparison testing is not against F350s it is a test of all 1/2 ton trucks. toyotas are over rated pop cans IMO. you can go to the bone yeard and find tons of them all with ess than 200 K. not the mythical last forever mileage the owners claim. With the demands people are putting on 1/2 ton trucks these days the 900 pounds more is a plus in most cases. more stable, better traction, superior towing ability.
