Yeah, I was talking to a kid recently who has a job pulling wires for built-in stereo systems for some guy who installs them in the mansions around Coeur d'Alene lake. He was telling me it's nothing for the owners to drop $100K just on the electronics package for a house, and that doesn't include the "Home Theater" equipment itself -- just low voltage wiring, remote controls of stuff, security cameras, built-in speakers, etc. It's mind-boggling how much money a lot of people have these days.
The natural gas fired genset is really neat if you can set it up to provide hot water for space heating or washing, along with the electricity. At that point you basically have a gas-fired water heater that throws off electricity for free. If it weren't for the maintenance, that's really how all buildings should be heated.
