We got our power back yesterday as well. I installed a manual transfer switch a few years ago hooked to a 7kw Honda that kept the well pump running along with judicious use of modern conveniences including a 12k BTU window unit cooling the house down. We hit 105 yesterday. The first day there was only one gas station with power in the neighborhood, the lines for the pumps reminded me of 70's oil embargo days...
