trucks are still made this way(ladder frame as far as I can tell, however seems you know what you are talking about tho and I am just making observations, my guess is that in the auto and light truck market they have engineered more safety into the pic., course if you have a wreck in a big truck you feel sorry for the one you ran into unless you run into another big truck
I did flip my wdx once on it's side, not a scatch to me or the truck as it stood sideways on the front bumber and the flatbed and just barely touched the front fender
wonder what would have happened if i had been in a sardine can and how many flips i would have done
i do agree tho about the steering wheel etc.
