One good frontal hit in a FFPW and you will be a steering shaft shiska kabob. It's like driving around with a spear pointed at your chest.
The old ladder frame is so weak, its laughable by today's standards. Someone welded in the frame cross members on one of my trucks to try to strengthen it.
These are 60 year old trucks. Just enjoy them for what they are. If you want a good daily driver, buy a used Toyota 4X4 pickup.
