I did the calculation on the net, came up with 63 mph/ 1,000 speedo rpm. Used the Stroboscope to check lathe spindle speed, 710 rpm = 45.5 mph. The one read 40, so my 6 mph was spot on. The two civvie speedos needed calibration, the M37 took a minute to wear away the spider web, then read good. I plant to run that one in the current project.

The lathe worked great. Reverse rotation, and using a center punch in the chuck as a 'jam' drive. Small, the drive was via the slight taper up about 1/2". The lathe enabled me to read the meter, and adjust the spring while running. Piece of cake. Now off to the fabric store in hopes of finding plated eyelets to replace the ones I drilled out with a countersink. Drill from the rear, though I have no plating left, 100% gray patina. It's a driver, not a Show Queen.
