So you did all that to gain 5 hp when the pedal is almost on the metal and lose 3 ft/lb torque - as well as use a heap more gas?? The biggest gains with these engines unless you blow it, is to increase compression (about 8.5:1 should do) and "fix" the valve timing (need to figure the cam grind - I forget) next set up the ignition timing to suit the new arrangement. To improve torque after that you can work out how long the distance from the inlet valve to the carb needs to be and you already got the good exhaust - also later blocks had bigger valves and bigger inlets help.
