They send you a link that looks like a legit location, but change the hyperlink to bring you to a bogus website that looks like the real deal, so they can then try and get you to log in. Then they have your account and password and start to clean you out before you know what hit you.

It is always a good idea to drag the pointer over the highlighted links provided by anyone and see what the hyperlinks really have for an address. One should always go to a known address when looking at personal data, and never trust a supplied link. The two seconds it takes to go to your favorites tab and click on a known one could save you thousands!

It isn't new, just seems to be used more now, since people have caught on to their other scams. Buyer/Seller beware never meant so much as it does now.
