This brings back many memories. Had a 67 that I drove from PA to Idaho to go to my second college when I was 20. My first big trip alone.
Had to totally replace the floor boards due to rust and made a sleeping platform across the back. Spent two weeks in it enroute to Moscow, ID. Spent two nights in Yellowstone and it got down to 26 degrees and I wound up in the mens restroom around 4 am since there was a small heater in it that turned on when someone was in it.
Four months later in Dec, I drove it back to PA with two new found friends and the heater quit in Kansas. Three of us were packed in the front with a sleeping bag across and around us. Then we got hit by a terrible snowstorm that closed the highway outside of Chicago. We went around the closures, back onto Rt 80 and spent a tough time in a blizzard for eight hours. But at least there was no traffic ;)
That truck would go anywhere and I beat the heck out of it and it kept going.
