Gas and diesel prices have finally started to drop around here. While most of the country has seen falling gas and diesel prives over the last few months we have been going up. That was due to the high price of crude that affected everyone but we had a refinery fire north of here which took out a lot of supply. Diesel has been hanging at $4.50 to $4.60 for quite a while. It has dropped that last 2 weeks to $3.99 in places. That makes about $18 less for a fillup.
Gas has been over $4.00. It reached a hight of $4.12 where I buy and it started dropping in the last week. It was $3.99 Saturday and this morning it was $3.82. So that is a $0.30 drop in about a week.
Gas and diesel are always a little higher than the national average around here, but the last 6 months have been brutal with the refinery being down.
