2 small flat blade screwdrivers, one small drift, 1 small hammer, 4 hands.
Push the small part of the escutcheon toward the door panel and you will see a small pin through 2 sides of the square shank on the handle. While 2 hands hold the escutcheon back against it's spring, the other 2 hands drive the pin through with the hammer and drift. I don't know if I've ever heard of a special tool.
