This is an easy do it yourself job for someone with experience. It is a good first time engine rebuild project. It is all strait forward.

You will probably need to bore out the cylinders and get new pistons. Plan on new bearings and bushings etc. Probably need some new exaust valves. It is hard to tell until you break it down.

Kanter's offers complete engine rebuild kits at a reasonable cost. Most parts are also still available at your local parts house, if they are willing to find them for you.

Any machine shop work needed like the bore job or crank grind won't be to bad. If you do it yourself the total cost will be reasonable and you will have the satisfaction (or embarrasment) of driving behind your own motor.

Good Luck
Steve
