I have a 2000 Diesel QC 4X4 with the auto in it w/ 3.54 gears. 2000 RPM gives me 72 MPH. Best mileage is 19 MPG at 77 MPH. So far I have had no problems with anything. Knock on wood. The only time I wish I had more gears or power is when pulling a heavy trailer load through the mountains. If you're going to do a lot of towing and it isn't flat where you are, I'd go with the 4.11 gears.
