Yep, if you could just get away from the MPG killing RPMs of low gearing,MPG would surely increase.Every RPM over about 70% of max.HP rated RPMs,just causes extra wear and fuel consumption.Actually the books say from 60-80% of the rated HP RPMs is where an engine get its best fuel economy,so I just pick 70% for an average.So theres no real way around it,better MPG come from less RPMs, and we know the only way to get less RPMs is a gearing change by gearsets,tires,or OD of some sort.
For every revolution an engine makes,X-amount of fuel is consumed,no way around that fact. The 360 has the torque to turn taller tires or an OD tranny or aux.OD unit.
All one needs is to make up their mind which route they'll take to get there.
