Does the engine number on the left side of the block just under the head? For instance mine is WCD 251 2334 0001 LC
Translation:
WCD Manufacturing plant
251 Displacement
2334 Date code Dec. 18, 1967
0001 Engine built that day
Before 1968 the Engine number would be set up a little different but it might have a 25 or 251 in the code if its a 251. I'm not sure when they started using this scheme.
