Another trick I've heard of is gently turning the motor over until the exhaust valve on the contaminated cylinder was open, and then hook the proper size reducers to the tailpipe so an air compressor hose will fit snugly and blow through at a high PSI. The junk should then blow right back out of the sparkplug hole. I don't know if this actually works, or if you'd end up blowing carbon and whatever from the muffler back into the cylinder.
